Family Dynamics Counseling, Inc.
has been providing services to Sweetwater County since 1993. Jill A. Johnson MS, LMFT began the business herself and over the years has expanded to include several independent contractors. Currently Renee Schroeder MS LPC, NCC and Paul Nicksich MS, LPC, LAT, CCMHC are welcome additions to the business.

Jill is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with an expertise in assisting individuals, couples and families with a variety of identified problems and has worked with issues such as depression, anxiety, adolescent problems, family and blended family issues and couples communication and conflict resolution issues. Jill graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana with a Bachelors Degree in Education and graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN with a Masters Degree in Science from Butler’s Marriage and Family Therapy Program. She provides a solution focused approach which assists clients and their families in leaving therapy with tools and resources to help them solve the problems they initially presented. Jill has been providing therapy services for over 20 years. Jill began private practice and started Family Dynamics Counseling, INC in 1993. Jill has also been involved in the community as a Hospice Board Member for over 10 years. Jill serves as a team member of the Critical Incident Stress Management Team, Sweetwater Assist, for Sweetwater County. She is a Chamber Ambassador for the Green River Chamber of Commerce. Jill has seen Family Dynamics Counseling, INC grow significantly since its beginning and is proud to have made Family Dynamics Counseling, INC an important provider of mental health and substance abuse services in Sweetwater County.

Paul was raised and educated in Rock Springs, graduating from Rock Springs High School in 1971.  Paul holds a BA in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Wyoming and a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Utah.  Paul is a National Certified Counselor, a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a Master Addictions Counselor, and is an Associate Fellow of the Albert Ellis Institute in New York.  Paul is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addictions Therapist in the state of Wyoming.  Paul has been a counselor and therapist since 1977.  Paul conducts substance abuse evaluations, domestic violence evaluations, and mental status evaluations.  Paul is skilled in individual or group counseling and therapy. 
Paul Nicksich is a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) and can do DOT Evaluations and services. The SAP is not a certification, but rather a qualification administered by the US Department of Transportation (DOT). Substance Abuse Professionals evaluate, refer for treatment and follow-up those employees in safety sensitive jobs who violate the alcohol and drug policies of the DOT and their respective employers. Those employees who are regarded as working in safety sensitive jobs are anyone with a CDL, people employed in civil aviation, pipeline companies, railroad employees and employees at nuclear power plants. The DOT also regulates other employees with safety sensitive jobs. As far as the DOT is concerned, the traveling public is the client. The purpose of the DOT Evaluations is to protect the public and to get the employee help for his or her substance abuse problem.

In the community Paul has volunteered with the Hospice of Sweetwater County Quality Review Committee.  He has been a member of the Rock Springs Jaycees and the Rotary Club of Rock Springs.  Paul was a part time instructor in Psychology and Sociology with Western Wyoming Community College with its Evanston outreach program for four years.

Renee’ has worked in the community for the past 38 years. Renee is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is a Nationally Board Certified Counselor. Ms. Schroeder graduated from the University of Wyoming with a BA in Education; she received her Masters of Science in Education from the counseling psychology program at the University of Wyoming. She has a Level 2 certification in EMDR, a trauma based therapy; CISD certification, this certification is in critical incidence debriefing; she is a certified practitioner for Truthought a cognitive based program in corrective thinking; she has had training in anxiety, OCD disorders, depression. Renee is also a Certified School Counselor, she is a certified practitioner in Level 4, 5 Triple P Parenting, she also has had training in many other parenting programs i.e. Boys Town, Second Step, etc; Renee has worked in the school system since 1976 and has training in ADHD, play therapy, anger management, and family issues. Renee uses a cognitive approach to understand and manage issues presented to her in therapy.

Wendy has worked as a Clinical Social Worker for the past 25 years in various capacities. Wendy has counseled women who were victims of domestic violence at the Women in Jeopardy Program in Salt Lake City, UT; counseled inpatients at the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute and University of Utah Hospital; directed the Teenscope adolescent day treatment program at the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute and has counseled in private practice. She received her Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Utah and her Masters Degree in Social Work at the University of Utah. Her education and professional experience have given her experience in working with diverse issues and diagnosis which include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, domestic violence, women’s issues and blended family issues. She provides relationship centered therapy with adolescents, individuals and couples in solution focused counseling.

Margaret M. Flores
Margaret is a Certified Addictions Practitioner and is under the supervision of Paul N. Nicksich MS, LPC, LAT, CCMHC, MAC, SAP. Margaret graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. She has been working as a substance abuse clinician in recovery services for more than 15 years. Margaret has experience in all levels of substance abuse treatment for both adults and adolescents. This includes long term residential therapeutic community treatment, short term residential treatment, and intensive outpatient program, continuing care / aftercare program, relapse prevention, pre-treatment/treatment readiness and early intervention. She has also provided individual and family services. Currently Margaret conducts substance abuse evaluations and level I adult outpatient treatment. In addition she receives at least 45 continuing education hours as required every two years by the State of Wyoming Mental Health Professional Licensing Board. Her education and work gives her experience not only in dealing with substance abuse but with depression, anxiety, anger, and suicide prevention.

Our office hours are available 7:00 am until 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday. We can schedule appointments on Friday if necessary. We offer evening appointments and we also have one clinician for Saturday hours from 7:00am until 4:00 pm. We are available outside of office hours for emergencies through our 24 hour answering service. Our clinicians network with a number of agencies in the county and cooperate with these agencies as needed to provide therapy services and referrals as necessary. We have updated the computer technology in our office to include Best Practices, research based assessment and treatment planning for our clients. We involve clients actively in their treatment.
